Laboratory Manager

Applications are invited for a Laboratory Manager to join ReNeuron, situated on the Surrey Research Park in Guildford. ReNeuron is a world leading, clinical-stage, biotechnology company focused on the development of novel stem cell therapies targeting areas of poorly met medical need.

Role:        
·         Laboratory management, including ordering of consumables and supplies for tissue culture rooms and laboratories
·         Management of relationships with key suppliers
·         Management of shipment of cell lines and reagents to contract manufacturing sites
·         Management of day to day lab operation, in compliance with relevant risk assessments, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s), and Quality Standards
·         Member of Health & Safety Committee

Candidate Profile:

·         Minimum of 1-2 years laboratory experience, plus experience of clean room environment would be an advantage
·         Experience of procurement and supplier management
·         HNC or HND qualified (or equivalent)
·         Computer literate, experience with database management advantageous
·          Able to demonstrate a commitment to quality (QC, QA)

Key Responsibilities:

·         Resourcing reagents and laboratory equipment
·         Management of equipment maintenance
·         Maintenance of laboratory equipment database
·         Building management system monitoring
·         Management of stocks of raw materials and reagents

Quality Manager

Applications are invited for a Quality Manager to join ReNeuron, situated on the Surrey Research Park in Guildford.  ReNeuron is a world leading, clinical-stage, biotechnology company focused on the development of novel stem cell therapies targeting areas of poorly met medical need.

Candidate Profile:

• A background in biologicals and aseptic processing, preferably cell based products and a thorough understanding of global regulations and guidance documents governing the development of these

• A background in molecular biology that is sufficient to permit an assessment of product risks as part of product development planning

• A proven ability to think creatively and to produce sound but innovative solutions to issues in a sector where the requirements are still subject to interpretation

• A recognised and credible professional in the Quality community well able to champion Quality within the Company. QP status or eligibility for QP status would be preferential but not essential

• The ability to formulate validated systems and procedures and the commitment to ensure that these are implemented and that there is compliance

• A willingness to cover all aspects of the role until the size of the task requires additional resource

• Excellent communication skills

Previous Experience:

• Experience of working with research scientists and a proven ability to communicate the importance of Quality systems and of compliance

• Sound experience in the fields of GLP, GMP and GCP and Quality Management of these outsourced activities

• Experience of preparing and auditing reports for inclusion in Master Files from which IND/CTA dossiers will be prepared

• Experience of contributing to the development of business plans required to forecast the needs for resources and finance

Key Deliverables:

• To take full responsibility for QA across the GXPs (including GMP, GCP and GLP) involving all aspects of the research development programmes both internal and external.

• Oversight of all major programmes, both internal and external and will be expected to proactively monitor these programmes for compliance, champion continual improvement initiatives and to advise on matters arising and the strategic development plan.

• Preparation of regulatory dossiers providing advice on the presentation and analysis of data and audit of final reports.
